Marina Martins is a young Brazilian cellist currently based in Basel, Switzerland. She is the winner of the 2018 Young Soloist Competition of the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (OSESP) and recipient of the Eleazar de Carvalho Medal and thus performed as a soloist in two concerts with OSESP and conductor Isaac Karabtchevsky at Sala São Paulo in 2019. Enthusiastic chamber musician, she has often been invited to Friedrichshafen to perform in chamber groups with the concertmaster of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Pieter Schoeman. Marina has performed in prestigious venues such as Sala São Paulo and Mosteiro São Bento in São Paulo, Great Hall at Wills Memorial in Bristol, Lincoln Center in New York, Giovanni Arvedi in Cremona and Auditorium Manenti in Crema. Marina plays on a Giuseppe Guarneri ‘filius Andreae’ cello generously loaned by a Private Collector.
